Why you need to save energy

why is it necessary to save electrical energy

Is it worth saving energy if “everything is fine”?There are huge oil and gas reserves, major hydroelectric power plants and many nuclear reactors. Is it really not enough? It’s enough, but you still need to save, because...

International Energy Saving Day was established relatively recently, on November 11, 2008.The initiator of the holiday was the environmental network “School Project on the Use of Resources and Energy.”

It would seem that the kids have come up with a holiday for themselves, let them have fun, adults don’t care about it.In fact, the holiday was not invented by children, but by adults and responsible people who care about the fate of humanity and the planet.

Unfortunately, not all of us see the need to save energy, so it is very important that the initiator of Energy Saving Day was a school project. If children understand why saving energy, then in the future they will not have to convince adults of the importance of caring for resources.

And yet - why? What does saving energy give us?

1. Money

Everything is simple with money. We spend less energy - we pay less for it.Perhaps someone will grimace contemptuously: “Here, counting meager amounts!”But this is just one of the benefits of saving energy.

2. Comfort

A significant portion of energy expenditure is spent on maintaining a comfortable temperature at home and in the office. In winter - for heating, in summer - for air conditioning.

A properly configured climate system not only uses energy efficiently, but also maintains comfortable “weather in the house.”In winter no one freezes, in summer no one languishes from stuffiness.

3. Nature

The share of “green” renewable sources in global energy production is constantly increasing. But the volumes of “clean” energy will not soon equal those that we get by burning gas, coal and oil products.

By burning hydrocarbons, we emit into the atmosphere a huge amount of substances harmful to all living things, from which not only we, but also our animals, rivers, forests and lakes suffer.

The less energy we use, the less dirt gets into nature, the better our health, the lusher our forests and the cleaner our waters. The more often our children will be able to see a bunny, stork or roe deer not through the bars of a zoo, but on a forest path, outside the window of a train or car.

4. Climate

Not a day goes by without the media reporting a new hurricane, catastrophic heat wave, flood or drought.Scientists blame global warming for this and associate it with an increase in the concentration of greenhouse gases in the planet's atmosphere.

One of the most powerful pollutants of the atmosphere with carbon dioxide is energy.By reducing energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions, we can stop negative climate processes.

Let skeptics argue that nothing has really been proven, that it is possible that the increase in the concentration of greenhouse gases is not a cause, but a consequence of warming. Is this a reason to refuse something that can harm our planet? Is it too dangerous to wait for reliable confirmation?Who will wait for them and who will need them if the point of no return is passed?Certainly not us and not us.

5. Economics and technology

The lower the energy costs for production, the lower its price, the higher the competitiveness of our goods, the more efficient the economy.

Efficient energy consumption stimulates scientific thought and the development of modern technologies.Does anyone remember when American cars stopped pumping gasoline onto the highways? After the first energy crisis in 1973.

The latest technologies provide technological leadership, make products even more competitive, and increase the economic and military security of the country.

6. Children

We all work, have fun, argue about politics and rush up the career ladder. But we live for the sake of our children, don’t we?

The less we use up the planet's resources, the more will be left for our children and grandchildren.Isn't it worth saving energy just for this?
